Committee vs. Member

What's the difference between Committee role and Member Role

Updated over 4 months ago

When someone joins a reunion on Reyoonite, they’re assigned a role — either as a Committee Member or a Regular Member. Your role determines what you can see and do in the platform.

What Both Roles Can Do

Whether you're helping plan or just attending, every member of a reunion can:

  • Join a reunion via invite link or code

  • Complete their personal profile and add immediate family

  • View all published reunion info (location, dates, itinerary)

  • See activities and events they’re invited to

  • Opt in or out of optional activities (when allowed)

  • View and pay their dues

  • Donate or sponsor another member

  • Receive group messages and automated reminders

  • Vote in polls created by the committee

💡 Note: Some actions, like inviting new members, can be done by both roles. But only the committee can manage the actual reunion settings or control pricing.

Committee Members

Who they are:
The people responsible for planning the reunion and making key decisions. Often the family leaders, planners, or volunteers who want to help coordinate the gathering.

What Committees can do:

  • Everything a Regular Member can do (see above)

  • Set and update the reunion name, location, and dates

  • Add and manage events and activities on the itinerary

  • Set pricing for events and control who sees what

  • Invite and assign committee roles to others

  • Track payments made for reunion dues

  • Create new group message channels

  • Run polls for decision-making (e.g., dates, locations, activities)

  • Coordinate directly with vendors and confirm bookings

  • Track RSVP status and participation by event

  • Setup travel accommodations like group hotel

Important: Committee Members have full access to all Regular Member tools plus reunion management features.

Regular Members

Who they are:
Everyone attending the reunion who is not helping plan it. Regular Members are typically family or guests participating in the experience.

What Members can do:

  • Join reunions and complete their profiles

  • Add immediate family members (like children or spouses)

  • View event and activity details, and their personal itinerary

  • Opt in or out of optional events (except for the mandatory ones)

  • View and pay their dues securely via Stripe

  • Sponsor another member, an entire event/activity, or just contribute extra

  • Vote in polls

  • Receive and respond to group messages and updates

  • Request financial assistance if needed

Can I Switch Roles?

Yes. A Committee Member can promote a Regular Member to the committee at any time — or remove someone from the committee if needed. You can always start as a participant and later step into a planning role.
